Types of Therapy

Family system therapy

A form of psychotherapy that shows individuals resolve their problems in the context of their family units, where many issues are likely to begin it looks at how individuals are impacted based on the systems in which they operate within examples of origins relationships in the community and at work and the relationship that one has with those systems

Eye movement desensitization and reprocessing

EMDR therapy is a phased, focused approach to treating trauma and other symptoms by reconnecting the traumatized person in a safe and measured way to the images, self – thoughts, emotions, and body sensations associated with the trauma and allowing the natural healing powers of the brain to move towards a more adaptive belief. You relive traumatic or triggering experiences in brief doses while the therapist directs your eye movements. EMDR is thought to be effective because recalling distressing events is often less emotionally upsetting when your attention is diverted.

Cognitive behavioral therapy

Cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) is a type of psychotherapeutic treatment that helps people learn how to identify and change destructive or disturbing thought patterns that could have a negative influence on behavior and emotions. Through (CBT) these thoughts are identified challenged and replaced with more objective realistic thoughts.

Play Therapy

Play therapy is used with clients 12 years old and younger, it’s a type of therapy where a therapist uses play, toys, and games to help the child explore express and safety experience the difficulties they are working through using play, the therapist uncovered insights otherwise unable to be heard and recognized through normal dialogue.
