About
Hi, I’m LaGail.
I am a Licensed Clinical Marriage & Family Therapist. I was born and raised in the Kansas City area and relocated to Maryland in 2019. I am a licensed practitioner in the states of Kansas (LCMFT # 03096), Maryland (LCM756), and DC (LMFT000255). I value family, learning, and making time to enjoy the little things in life. I also enjoy spending time with my family and friends. My mission in life is to help others heal and feel whole again. I believe that every person seeks answers that reside within them. People sometimes struggle with who they are as people. In my work, I support individuals in learning to love and appreciate themselves for who they are. Through this process, individuals learn to love and appreciate those around them while putting healthy boundaries in place within their various relationships. I work with couples, by providing insight into their negative cycles and patterns that keep them stuck in the same argument repeatedly.
We will work together to find ways to change that negative cycle in order for the relationship to function in a positive and healthier manner. I teach couples how to communicate and actively listen to the underlying wants and needs of their partners. I work side by side with parents on how to observe their children’s behavior and provide introspection into their child(ren)’s needs. My focus with all individuals who allow me into their lives is to help them feel understood as well as provide introspection into who they are and who want to become. I use systemic therapy as well as person center therapy style. No matter what how our paths cross, my focus will always be on supporting you in finding your inner peace and practicing self-care. We must always balance filling our own cups while we pour into others or things.
I am a Prepare and Enrich Facilitator for pre-marital couples and couples with and without children. I am an EDMR Level I Trained therapist; I am a registered Play Therapist. I also love to incorporate mindfulness, imagery, meditation, and deep breathing during therapy sessions.
